Do I need a second phone?
No. Your NovaLine number works through our app on the phone and computer you already have, right alongside your normal number.
Will these calls and texts show in my phone’s call log?
They live in the NovaLine app, separate from your phone’s built-in Phone and Messages apps — so they don’t pile into your normal call history or message threads. In-app calling and the passcode / Face ID lock are part of the NovaLine app, which is rolling out now. Calls to regular numbers still use the normal phone network, so a second number isn’t anonymous or untraceable.
Can I lock the app?
Yes — the NovaLine app opens with a passcode, Face ID or fingerprint, so your second number stays private even when your phone is unlocked.
What’s the difference between the two versions?
Version 1 (Your Line) is a normal second phone line — unlimited calls and texts to any number. Version 2 (Private) is a built-in messenger where messages between two NovaLine users are end-to-end encrypted and disappear on a timer. You get both in the same app.
Are the encrypted messages really private?
Messages on the Private side are end-to-end encrypted, so only you and the other NovaLine user can read them, and they’re set to disappear. That protection applies NovaLine-to-NovaLine only — ordinary calls and texts to regular numbers use the normal phone network and aren’t end-to-end encrypted. Disappearing removes a message on a timer; it can’t stop someone from screenshotting their own screen. This feature arrives with the NovaLine app.
Can I keep my current number?
Yes. You can bring an existing number in (porting), or start with a new local number and port it out later if you ever leave.
What does “private notifications” do?
It hides caller names and message previews on your lock screen and alerts, so someone glancing at your phone doesn’t see who contacted you or what they said. It’s a display setting on your device — it doesn’t make calls anonymous.
Is it really unlimited?
The Unlimited plan covers unlimited inbound and outbound calls and texts for normal business use, subject to a fair-use policy to stop automated spam. We’ll always tell you the limits plainly.
Can a team share one number?
Yes. On Pro and Unlimited, everyone sees the same inbox and can reply, and calls can ring a group or route by extension.
What about taxes and fees?
Phone service carries government and carrier fees (like the Universal Service Fund). We show these as a separate line at checkout, the way carriers do.
Is this for emergencies / 911?
A second line isn’t a replacement for your main phone for emergency calls unless 911 is specifically enabled on your account. Keep your primary line for emergencies.
